U.S. Marine Cpl. Tim Perez, a combat engineer with Task Force Koa Moana, exchanges weapons with a Peruvian Marine during a training event in Ancon, Peru, Sept. 3, 2016. Task Force Koa Moana is in Peru as part of a theater security cooperation engagement to integrate and improve interoperability with Peruvian Marines. The training blurs the traditional boundaries between U.S. combatant commands due to coordination between U.S. Marine Corps Forces, Pacific and U.S. Marine Corps Forces, South.
