U.S. Marines assigned to the Special Purpose Marine Air Ground Task Force (SPMAGTF) conduct advanced marksmanship training alongside Colombian Marine infantry personnel in Matuntugo, Colombia as a part of Subject Matter Expert Exchange (SMEE) Nov. 7, 2011. The SPMAGTF consists of Marines from various commands and elements that collectively operate on a small expeditionary level in support of Amphibious-Southern Partnership Station 2012. SPS is an annual deployment of U.S. ships to the U.S. Southern Command's area of responsibility in the Caribbean and Latin America. The exercise involves information sharing with navies, coast guards and civilian services throughout the region.
