NASSAU, Bahamas (March 6, 2009) - Chief Petty Officer Gustavo Tirado, a U.S. Coast Guardsman from Islaverde, Puerto Rico, demonstrates handcuff procedures during 'compliant boarding' training for Dominican Republic Defence Forces at the Royal Bahamas Defence Force Base in Coral Harbour. The training, a key element in the combined effort to increase maritime security in the Caribbean Basin, is part of Exercise Tradewinds 2009. Tradewinds '09 is a Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff directed, U.S. Southern Command-sponsored annual Maritime Interdiction operations exercise that is conducted in cooperation with Caribbean Basin partner nations.(Photo by Sgt.
