Light Armored Vehicles Joint Live Fire Range: UNITAS 2024
U.S. Marine Corps Staff Sgt. Timothy Hayden a Unmanned Aircraft System operator with 4th Light Armored Reconnaissance Echo Company and members of the Cuerpo de Infanteria de Marina (Chilean Marines) demonstrates the capabilities of the PUMA UAS drone during a live fire range, at the Expeditionary Advanced Base North, in Puerto Aldea, Chile, on Sept. 5, 2024, while participating in Exercise UNITAS XLV. The Puma is a hand launched Small Unmanned Aircraft System that allows Marine forces on the ground to have a birds eye view of the battlefield . UNITAS, which is Latin for “unity”, was conceived in 1959 and has taken place annually since first conducted in 1960.
