Approximately 1,000 Marines and sailors from seven countries came together for Exercise Southern Exchange 2009, July 13. The three-week exercise is meant to join each nation's efforts in enhancing regional security while providing a training opportunity that would be invaluable during any possible peacekeeping or disaster relief mission that could arise in the future.
