The USS Oak Hill is participating in a combined naval and amphibious exercise with maritime forces from Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Peru, and Uruguay. The USS Oak Hill will also support U.S. Marine Corps Forces, South in this year's Southern Exchange 2009, which is hosted by the Corpos Fuzileiros Navais (CFN). Celebrating the second anniversary of SE09, Brazil will host approximately 1,000 Marines and Sailors from the U.S., Argentina, Chile, Peru, Colombia and Uruguay, from July 13-31 at the Diviso Anfbia and the island of Marambaia, Rio de Janeiro.
