U.S. Marine F/A-18s and KC-130J conduct UNITAS LXV Flight Operations
A KC-130J with Marine Aerial Refueler Transport Squadron 234 (VMGR-234), 4th Marine Aircraft Wing, lands during Exercise UNITAS LXV in Santiago, Chile, Sept. 8, 2024. VMGR-234 provided aerial refueling support to Marine F/A-18C jets, military freefall support to U.S. and partner Marine Corps forces, and assault support to ground forces throughout Chile. UNITAS, which is Latin for “unity,” was conceived in 1959 and has taken place annually since it was first conducted in 1960. This year marks the 65th iteration of the world’s longest-running annual multinational maritime exercise. (U.S. Marine Corps photo by Lance Cpl. Madisyn Paschal)
