Boatswain's Mate Seaman Patrick Cuningham, a U.S. Navy Riverines from Riverine Squadron (RIVRON 3) Detachment 1 (Det. 1), his Riverine Patrol boat (RPB) away from the red smoke that was used to mark a pick-up locations for team members in Santo Tomas Dec. 6. The simulation was held with U.S. Marines attached to a Special Purpose Marine Air Ground Task Force (SPMAGTF) and members of the Guatemalan Naval Special Forces. The Riverines and SPMAGTF Marines are participating in the SMEE exchanges as a part of Amphibious-Southern Partnership Station 2012 (AMPHIB-SPS 12), an annual deployment of U.S. military teams to the U.S. Southern Command area of responsibility.
