U.S. Marines with Security Cooperation Task Force (SCTF) hold the primary weapon used by Colombian Marine Proffessionals, the Galil assault rifle, while Colombian Marine Proffesionals hold the U.S. Marine Corps' primary weapon, the M4 carbine rifle, as they stand on the firing line at Marine Infantry Training Base in Covenas, Feb.1. U.S. and Colombian Marines fired several weapons during a subject matter expert exchange (SMEE) in support of Amphibious Southern Partnership Station 2011 (A-SPS 11). A-SPS 11 will focus on strengthening our existing regional partnerships and encouraging the establishment of new relationships through the exchange of maritime mission-focused knowledge and expertise so each participating country will improve capabilities in what it considers key maritime security mission areas.
