U.S. Marines and sailors deployed in support of Operation Continuing Promise 2010 and embarked aboard the amphibious assault ship USS Iwo Jima, prepare to depart on a site survey via medium-lift, dual rotor CH-46E Sea Knight helicopters with Marine Medium Helicopter Squadron 774, attached to Special-Purpose Marine Air-Ground Task Force CP10, in the area of Port-Au-Prince, Haiti, Nov. 6, 2010, to gather an understanding of the damage caused by Hurricane Tomas. If tasked, the USS Iwo Jima will conduct humanitarian relief operations in support of the government of Haiti, MINUSTAH and USAID. Service members and civilians are deployed in support of CP10 providing medical, dental, veterinary, engineering assistance and subject-matter exchanges to the Caribbean, Central and South America.
