Colonel Euler was born in Stratford, New Jersey and graduated from The Citadel in 1991. In 1992, he was commissioned into the Marine Corps. Upon graduation from The Basic School, he reported to Pensacola, Florida for flight training earning his aviator wings in 1994. Shortly after, he reported to HMT-204 MCAS New River, NC where he completed his initial CH-46E helicopter training.

From 1995 to 1998, Colonel Euler flew with HMM 264 “Black Knights”. During this assignment, he served in a variety of billets including Adjutant, Flight Officer, Pilot Training Officer and Assistant Operations Officer. While serving with the Black Knights, he deployed twice with 26th MEU(SOC) and once with SPMAGTF Liberia.

In 1999, he completed TACP school at EWTGLANT and reported to Tactical Training and Exercise Control Group (TTECG), 29 Palms, CA where he served as “COYOTE 14S” Helicopter Assault Specialist. As “COYOTE 14S,” he participated in multiple Combined Arms Exercises (CAXs) until his detachment date in 2000.

Colonel Euler’s next assignment was with HMM 165 MCAS Miramar, CA where he served as the Director of Safety and Standardization, and Future Operations Officer. During this tour, Colonel Euler deployed with the 13th MEU(SOC) supporting Operation ENDURING FREEDOM (OEF) and Operation Anaconda.

In August 2002, Colonel Euler reported to MAWTS-1 Yuma, AZ and served as the CH-46E Division Head and Assault Support Department Head. During this tour, he supported numerous WTI classes and Desert Talon exercises. In 2003, he deployed with the squadron to Al Jaber, Kuwait providing MAWTS-1 augmentation to the 3rd MAW TACC and flew with HMM-365 during the initial stages of Operation IRAQI FREEDOM (OIF).

From 2005 to 2008, Colonel Euler served with HMM 261 MCAS New River, NC as the squadron’s Maintenance Officer and Operations Officer. During this tour, he deployed twice with 22nd MEU supporting operations in OIF and throughout the CENTCOM AOR.

In May 2008, Colonel Euler reported to MCAS Miramar, CA where he took command of HMM 161 “Greyhawks.” Colonel Euler deployed with the squadron to Al Taqqadum and Al Asad, Iraq for a seven month combat deployment in support of OIF. Shortly upon return from OIF, the “Greyhawks” became the first West coast squadron to transition to the MV-22.

Following command, Colonel Euler attended the U.S. Naval War College Newport, RI, where he earned a Master of Arts degree in National Security and Strategic Studies.

From 2011 to 2014, Colonel Euler served with USSOCOM Tampa, Florida as a planner in the J-5 and as the Deputy Director for the Afghanistan OPT. During this tour, he deployed to Afghanistan serving on the SOJTF-A HQ staff.

In July 2014, Colonel Euler reported to 1st MAW Okinawa, Japan where he first served as the AC/S G5. He took command of Marine Aircraft Group 36 in May of 2015 supporting numerous operations and exercises in the Western Pacific. Upon relinquishing command of MAG-36, Col Euler served as the Assistant Wing Commander of 1st MAW from May of 2017 until June of 2018.

Col Euler transferred to MARFORSOUTH in the summer of 2018 where he is currently assigned as the Chief of Staff.

Colonel Euler is married to the former Ruth Reveles of Alexandria, VA and has three children: Juliet (17), Thomas (15), and Margaret (14).
